Mill. “Westmolen”. On the Schelluinse Vliet, approx. 2 km. west of Gorinchem a whip watermill from 1814, to drain the polder De Banne of Gorinchem and Kwakernaat.
Beautiful broker with date and weather vane. The year 1664 is in the keystone above the forewater course. Above this is a coat of arms stone with inscription.
This mill is the western one of a pair that drains this polder. Restored at the same time as the East Mill around 1959.
