Wednesday, September 16, 2020, marked the official launch of the Heroes of Gorkum construction project. In the coming year, 26 new homes will be built on both sides of Bagijnenwalstraat-Lindeboom.
Before construction, Hollandia Archaeologists This summer the final phase of the archaeological research will be completed in this area. In addition to the finds in 2019 medieval city wall the kitchens of a 15 year old were completely unexpectedlye century women's monastery, a mill and the remains of a tannery were excavated.
Project developer From Wines finds it important that the future residents of the Heroes of Gorkum also know the story of this place and therefore created it together with Hollandia Archaeologists a brochure summarizing the preliminary results of the study.
