From Trade School to Technical School
The vocational school in Gorinchem, founded at the end of the nineteenth century, played a key role in training skilled workers for local industry. The school evolved into a technical school, thanks in part to technological developments and the growing demand for skilled workers. Over the decades, the curriculum modernized, with traditional crafts being supplemented with new technical subjects. The school was able to adapt to changing social and economic needs, thus occupying a central position in the development of technical education in the region. This publication describes the historical context, educational developments, and the school's impact on the local community, focusing on both continuity and innovation in education.
