Remains of the castle of the Lords of Arkel are preserved

GORINCHEM – The remains of the castle of the lords of Arkel, on the outside of the Dalemsedijk, will be preserved for the public. The municipality and the polder district Tieler- and Culemborgerwaarden have agreed that the remains of the walls will be raised with clay. The wetland area that is being created around the remains will leave the contours of the castle free. The municipality plans to place an explanatory sign at the location.
