First objects found in Krijtstraat

GORINCHEM – The archaeologists who are working on the vacant lot at the Chalk Street found the first objects.

The craftsmen have now collected bags full of finds, including many shards, pieces of leather and even a few pens, which people used to write with. The work attracts a lot of attention. Several people stop to chat with the archaeologists or to cast a curious glance through the fence. The archaeological work will continue for another six weeks.
