Tour of the depot
Take the unique opportunity and visit the municipal archaeological depot of Gorinchem! Normally the depot and the workspace can only be visited by appointment. But during the National Archaeology Days On October 13, 14 and 15, the depot will be open to the public for three afternoons from 14.00 p.m.
Finds consultation hour
On Saturday and Sunday afternoons you can also have your find assessed during the finds consultation hour. So don't hesitate and bring your finds! Children can search themselves with the help of a metal detector.
Varied collection
In January 2017, the archaeological depot of the municipality of Gorinchem moved to a new location. In this depot, all finds that are found during archaeological research within the municipal boundaries are managed. The depot now contains a large collection of finds, ranging from medieval pottery to weapons from the Second World War. All documentation of excavations, such as drawings and photographs, is also kept in the depot.
